Mix bismuth with other metal bars and you get a little extra value out of the end product. But you can't normally make stuff out of bismuth alone. When Dorfs ask for bismuth items try making stuff out of bismuth alloys, like bismuth bronze. Logged WebYou basically get a little over 14% more metal for the same embark cost using bismuth bronze, and your goods are worth 20% more, but it takes 4 times as many smelting jobs to get it done.
