If you have changed the filter (assuming it is a large one) it will take many start attempts to prime (not bleed) the fuel as the solenoid dosing pump only moves very little diesel with each pulse. As Webasto dealers we use a tool which pulses voltage to the pump in order to prime it. What you are experiencing is perfectly normal.
